Sugar, flour, ash...wait, what?!
So I went to the grocery store today to buy applesauce and a couple of doughnuts. I go to the bakery part of the store and look over the doughnuts. They have a surprisingly good selection. Just as I'm about to grab a couple and go, I see the sign below. Apparently they are into full disclosure, as one of the first ingredients in their plain donuts is...ash
Now, maybe this is bakery code for something that is not the charred remains of other stuff, or stuff that shoots out of a volcano, but still, it was a bit of a WTF moment and I had to whip out the cell phone camera. The entry for "moisture" is also suspicious, hmm...Also, how/why the hell would one measure hundredths of a gram (and hundredths of a milligram for that matter) for baking purposes?

Still, I got a big apple fritter and a couple other small doughnuts that I presumed were NOT from the ash-recipe. But who knows, maybe I just ate some ash. Mmmm. They were good, didn't taste like ash...
