Torhald's EQ2 class summary

Thought I'd just write up a little blurbie on each of the evil classes. By no means have I played all of them or am a expert on the game or anything but I've read alot on them so I thought I'd pass alone my thoughts on them to maybe help some people pick a class.

Beserkers: A descent tank that wears plate. They can be a bit streaky with the damage as they rely on their rage procs so they can tear things up quickly or a at a moderate pace depending on luck. Seem to have more aoe attacks than usual as a speciality with a nice 'zerker flavor with above average damage. Seem to be a solid class.

Guardians: This is the tank class when you talk about tanks. The most hp's you can get and the best party protection you can get. They have descent damage and great taunts. This class might be the preferred tank on uber mobs since defence is its speciality.

Brusiers: The dirty martial artist thats not afraid to kick to the groin or gouge your eyes out. Their damage output is above the heavy tanks but of course give up some defence. More of a light tank that can tank well on lower lvl things but does'nt do as well on uber mobs when their dodges and parries won't work so good.

Shadow Knights: A plate wearing mid range tank. They have less hps and damage than the other heavy tanks but with the use of lifetapsand thier other damage spells they can push out more than respectable damage and tanking ability. A good class to play when you like fighters but want more a bit more varity then just relying on your sword & board.

Warlock: The cousin of the wizard that relies more on poison and disease than fire and ice. They seem to have more dots, debuffs, and aoe's than the wizard but can definately keep up to them in the damage department. They are the aoe damage gods.

Wizard: The nuker class when talking about nukers. Not a mystery at what they do best with a variety of damage types to bring the best tool for the job. If you like to nuke you know what to pick.

Coercer: The mind screw class and the enchanter-ish class equivalent that trades some damage for utility. Good utility with good damage, power regens, mez's and stuns and charms. Not much else to say, if you want cc pick this class. Like any cc class they can be preferred over the others for what they can offer to a group.

Necromancer: The evil pet class. Pets are not the juggernauts they were in eq1 but they still are very useful. Your typical necro spells dealing out a lot of dots and siccing the pet on things. Some utility with descent overall damage. They are also the only mage class who can rez. Seems a solid class with good flavor.

Inquisitor: The evil cleric. A plate wearing class which can not be underated for its damage absorption. Generally clerics are good at increasing your sta/hps/ac and str. They have reactive heals which are better attuned to slower harder hitting mobs than faster duel wielding mobs since their reactives only last for a certain number of hits.

Warden: A druid specializing in healing and defence more so than the fury. They have a defensive proc and primarily buff wisdom for more resists and power. They don't have as a diverse of a tool box to deal damage as the fury can but can still keep up to them, plus they have the cool factor of wolf form. They seem to have descent utility as well and rely on regens for heals. They do more damage vs. elementals (rare).

Fury: The more offensive side of the druid. They can still do their healing duties as a priest but their main speciality is killing and helping their party to kill. Their buffs are a little more combat oriented with a good range of weapons to deal damage for the occasion. They do more damage vs. elementals (rare). Seem to have descent utility, have cougar form & rely on regens for heals. Regens are very mana efficent but need to time to work unlike reactives/wards. A solid class.

Defiler: The evil shaman that takes form the spirits instead of asking. They rely on wards for healing. Wards absord damage and heal if anything is left in them when their timer expires. Defilers are the debuffer and slow class so if you like to do that then they are a good choice. They have lots of spells that hurt and heal in the same stroke. More reliant on dots and seem more generally offensive like the fury. They have some cc and thier buffs are generally more fighter oriented pushing up str/sta/hps/ac and power mostly. They do more damage vs. shadow creatures (not many of those about) and have a wraith form.

Brigand: The positional rogue fighter more in line with a very light tank. Very good and consistent damage, not as much burst damage as the assassin but high and constant damage with some good utility and flavor thrown in. More group freindly than a assassin and works best beside a tank. They can also use poisons. Another under played dark horse class that could do well if in the right hands.

Dirge: The more damage oriented side of the bard class. Still keeping intact the group enhancing spells of the bard class and mixing in some damage to their utility. Their songs generally hurt other or help their group hurt others. The only thief class that can rez also.

Troubador: The more defensive side of the bard but no slouch in the damage department either. Their songs generally help and add defence/utility to their party. Good utility and the ability to charm can not be underated. As dirges help the melee classes out more the troub specializes in helping out casters more.

Assassin: The single hardest hitting class in the game period. If you like big numbers to roll up then this is your class. Their attacks from stealth can be devastating but their follow up attacks are nothing special however which evens out their large initial hits. They are the king of burst damage and are designed to kill and not much else. They can also use poisons.

Hope this helps someone out. I tried to be objective and give pertinent facts that ppl might be concerned about. Enjoy!
